Kentucky Life Sciences Council

Founded in 2014, the Kentucky Life Sciences Council serves as the voice of the Kentucky BioScience and Healthcare industries.  KLSC focuses on using advocacy to create a more favorable business environment, working with industry and government leaders to promote effective policies on behalf of the industry.

Vision:  To serve as a resource for lawmakers, industry participants, the media, the public, and those outside the state wishing to learn more about Kentucky life sciences and biotechnology.
 
Mission:  To research, develop, and advocate policies and actions that promote biomedical sciences, biotechnology, agriculture, and medical device innovation and education in Kentucky and beyond.
 
Objectives: The KLSC provides the following services:

  • A forum to identify, analyze and develop positions on public policy issues that affect Kentucky's biomedical and healthcare technology interests.

  • Conducts research as a basis for advocating responsible state and federal policies

  • Communicates to public officials, providers, patients, and the general public the value of Kentucky's health care technology community for the health and economic well-being of our nation's citizens and the economic growth of Kentucky.

  • Identifies and communicates the value of the products of health care technology with regards to cost, benefits, and patient's quality of life.
