KLSC released the following statement in support of the inclusion of critical PBM reforms in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026:
“KLSC urges Congress to advance the government funding package containing practical PBM reforms that address the affordability crisis fueled by the unfair and profit‑driven practices of healthcare middlemen.
The bill would rein in opaque PBM practices that enrich these healthcare giants at the expense of American families and employers by eliminating incentives that push patients toward costlier medications and by ensuring all rebates, discounts, and fees are fully passed through to Medicare Part D plans. In addition, the bill establishes essential reporting requirements that bring long‑overdue transparency to PBM operations and expose market distortions responsible for rising drug costs and reduced access to care.
These reforms reflect years of bipartisan work to hold PBMs accountable for practices that harm patients, businesses, and taxpayers alike. Congress should move quickly to enact this legislation and deliver real, measurable relief to American families.”
